“Egypt strongly denounces the latest terrorist attacks by the Houthi militias on Saudi Arabia’s Abha International Airport with a drone,” the statement said.

The ministry reiterated its complete rejection for the terrorist attacks, saying that they represent a clear threat to Saudi Arabia’s safety and stability as well as a flagrant violation for the international law

The attack on Abha International airport also undermines the freedom of air travel and the safety of civilians, the statement said.

The foreign ministry also expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for any measures it takes to protect its security and stability.

According to news reports, 12 people at the airport were injured by shrapnel when the explosive-laden drone was intercepted by Saudi air defences on Thursday afternoon.
