Earlier on Monday, the drone attacked King Abdullah bin Abdel-Aziz Airport in Jezan, injuring 16 people before being intercepted by Saudi air defenses.

The ministry’s statement said the targeting of civilians and vital civilian institutions, including the airports in the Kingdom, is considered a flagrant violation of international law as well as a blatant threat to the security and stability of Saudi Arabia and the safety of civil aviation and the freedom of air navigation.

The ministry stressed Egypt’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and any measures it takes to face these terrorist attacks, emphasising that the security and stability of the two countries are closely linked.
