In a statement issued on Thursday, the Egyptian foreign ministry said that Egypt stands in full solidarity with Japan in this ordeal.
The ministry also offered its condolences to the families of the victims and wished speedy recoveries for the injured.
Four people were reported dead and more than 100 injured after the powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake rattled large parts of the east coast and prompted a tsunami warning in Japan.
