Sameh Shoukry discussed with Perthes the latest developments in Sudan and a number of issues of mutual interest, especially the latest efforts to support the UN initiative to support the dialogue in Sudan.

From his side, Shoukry stated that Egypt supports all efforts to preserve security and stability in Sudan, taking into consideration that those efforts should be based on the Sudanese priorities and visions.

The Egyptian FM added it is necessary to support Sudan internationally at this critical moment and that international economic support to Sudan must resume so the Sudanese people can overcome current economic conditions.

He also added Egypt is confident that Sudan will be able to overcome its economic and political challenges while keeping the Sudanese state and institutions intact

Pethes’ visit to Cairo comes on the same day Sudan’s General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan visited Cairo to meet with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
