Saied and Al-Burhan extended their condolences to El-Sisi over the victims of the terrorist attack that took place on Saturday in western Sinai, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
The terrorist attack on a water-lifting plant in Sinai left 11 army personnel dead, including an officer, and five personnel injured, stated Armed Forces Spokesman Gharib Abdel-Hafez on Saturday.
The Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for the attack on Sunday.
Jordanian King Abdullah II also expressed his country’s solidarity with Egypt in the face of terrorism in a phone call with El-Sisi, the presidential spokesman said on Saturday.
Many world leaders and international and Arab organisations also condoled with Egypt, expressing their solidarity with Cairo in its fight against terrorism.
