Sisi appoints Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady as ambassador-extraordinary to Italy

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi issued a presidential decree appointing Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady as ambassador-extraordinary and plenipotentiary-extraordinary to Italy, as well as non-resident ambassador to the Republic of San Marino.

Rady has served as spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency since October 2017.

A former consul to Turkey, Rady was the third spokesperson for President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi after Ehab Badawy and Alaa Youssef.

The president also appointed new ambassadors to China, Mongolia, and the UAE.

Assem Mohamed Mahmoud was appointed as ambassador-extraordinary and plenipotentiary to China, and non-resident ambassador to Mongolia.

Sherif Mahmoud Sayed Eissa was also appointed as ambassador-extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the UAE.
