Shoukry, Kerry discuss coordination on climate change issues

Egypt’s Foreign Minister and President-designate of the UN Climate Conference COP27 Sameh Shoukry discussed in a telephone call on Tuesday with US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry coordination on climate change issues, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Shoukry discussed in the telephone call he received from Kerry the means to cement current cooperation and coordination between Egypt and the US on the climate change issue, in addition to discussing the results of a meeting they held in July in Berlin.

They also reviewed the results of the recent visit of the green economy trade mission to Cairo in May.

Kerry praised the ongoing cooperation between Egypt and the US to solve climate change-related issues adding Washington's keenness to partake effectively in COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh in November.
