The state funeral, the first in Britain since the death of Winston Churchill in 1965, will take place Monday at Westminster Abbey in London.

Queen Elizabeth II, the United Kingdom’s longest serving monarch passed away on 8 September at the age of 96 at Scotland’s Balmoral Castle after reigning for 70 years.

On Saturday, El-Sisi held his first phone call with the UK’s King Charles III since his coronation after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

King Charles paid three visits to Egypt in 1981, 2006 and in November 2021.

During his last visit, with his wife Camilla Parker, they were received by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and First Lady Entissar El-Sisi at the Ittihadiya Palace in Heliopolis, and held a meeting with Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayyeb, and Head of Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church Pope Tawadros.

They later visited the Giza Pyramids, the Sphinx, Bayt Al-Razzaz in Historic Cairo, and the ancient city of Alexandria where they toured Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
