In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack and extended condolences to Thailand and the families of the victims.
The ministry wished the injured a speedy recovery.
“Egypt stresses that it stands by the government and people of the friendly Kingdom of Thailand in this tragic time,” the ministry added.
Countries around the world have been offering their condolences to Thailand over the incident, which is one of the deadliest of its kind in the country's history.
Penya Khamrab, a former police officer, stormed a nursery in Na Klang District and shot dead at least 37 people, mostly preschoolers, according to reports. He then killed his wife and son before taking his own life.
Khamrab was dismissed from service in January for drug possession and appeared in court over a drug charge hours before the crime, Thai police say.
