Egyptian, Iraqi, Jordanian FMs meet on fringe of preparatory meetings for Arab summit in Algeria

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his counterparts Ayman Safadi of Jordan and Fouad Hussein of Iraq met on Monday to discuss ways to boost trilateral relations. The meeting was held on the margins of preparatory meetings for the 31st Summit of the Arab League (AL) hosted by Algeria November 1-2.

During their meeting, the ministers reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination, within the framework of a trilateral cooperation mechanism, to serve joint interests and foster Arab cooperation, according to a press release by the Foreign Ministry.

They hailed the progress made by the ministerial groups concerned with achieving strategic integration among the three countries, asserting the need to follow up on the implementation status of targeted projects and speed up their execution to maximize their benefit.

Meanwhile, Shoukry and Safadi stressed their support for Iraq, whose security and stability are essential for regional security and stability, as well as Arab national security.

Also, they congratulated Hussein on the formation of a new Iraqi government.
