Petroleum minister heads Egypt's delegation to OIF summit in Tunisia

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El-Molla headed the Egyptian delegation taking part in the 18th summit of the International Organisation of Francophonie (OIF), currently being held on the Tunisian island of Djerba, on behalf of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.

The summit is being attended by more than 33 heads of state and government, as well as 80 representatives of regional and international organisations.

El-Molla met with Tunisian President Kais Saied and conveyed a message from President El-Sisi stressing Egypt's support for the reforms introduced by the Tunisian leader, according to a statement released by the Petroleum Ministry on Sunday.

The oil minister also held a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, who lauded Egypt's successful hosting of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh.
