The Egyptian president has also dispatched Presidential Secretary Mohamed Yehia to the UAE embassy in Cairo to offer greetings.

The UAE’s National Day falls on 2 December in honour of the unification of six of its seven emirates in 1968.

Egypt and the UAE have recently celebrated 50 years of bilateral relations under the slogan “Egypt and the UAE: One Heart.”

President El-Sisi said in October that Egypt and the UAE share a common destiny during his reception of the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum in Cairo.

On the occasion of the visit, Al-Maktoum wrote on his official Twitter account “The people of Egypt are a loyal people and its leadership is an authentic leadership .. for 50 years they have been with us since the beginning and establishment of our state .. Egypt was and will remain the backer and the stock and the brother that we cannot do without.”

The volume of non-oil trade between Egypt and the UAE hit more than $3.2 billion between January and May 2022, up from $2.9 billion during the same period in 2021, according to the UAE’s Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.

The UAE’s Ministry of Cabinet Affairs also noted that “the UAE is Egypt’s second largest trading partner at the Arab level while Egypt is the fifth largest Arab trading partner of the UAE in intra-non-oil trade and holds seven percent of its total non-oil trade with Arab countries.”
