Qatar National Day is celebrated on 18 December every year to mark the country’s unification in 1878.
Cairo and Doha commemorated last week the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in a celebration in Egypt that was attended by a number of ministers, officials and foreign ambassadors to Cairo.
Egypt and Qatar have boosted their relations on all levels and exchanged high-level visits in the wake of the Al-Ula declaration for Arab reconciliation with Qatar, which Egypt signed in Saudi Arabia in January 2021.
