Sisi, Sall review AU Summit preparations

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed in a telephone call on Monday with Senegalese President Macky Sall the preparations for the upcoming annual African Union summit slated for February, the Egyptian Presidency announced.

According to the Egyptian Presidency, El-Sisi congratulated his Senegalese counterpart on the 2022 successful presidency of the African Union that saw many international and regional challenges that had significant repercussions on all political, economic and social levels in the continent.

President Sall expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude for the Egyptian support to his country in various aspects during its presidency of the African Union. This support reflected Egypt's keenness to uphold the common interests of African countries and to find solutions to issues and crises facing the continent, he added.

Both presidents also dealt with the latest developments in key files and issues of mutual concern at the regional and international levels.
