The conference comes in the wake of the forming of a right-wing Israeli government that seeks to destroy the two-state solution and is set to be attended by high-level representation from Arab, regional and international bodies, Allouh added

The Palestinian ambassador said Abbas's participation at the conference aims at countering the practices of the Israeli occupation forces in light of the recent violent and ferocious attacks on Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities and amid a rise in the Israeli attempts to Judaise the holy city.

The Palestinian leader will shed light on the suffering of Jerusalem residents and their right to defend their lands and their steadfastness in face of the occupation in a bid to garner Arab and international funding for a number of investment projects in the health, education and housing sectors as well as women empowerment, the ambassador pointed out.

Abbas will float a proposal to set up a voluntary fund to be contributed to by Arab states, Arab development agencies and the private sector to finance small and medium-scale projects in Jerusalem. Abbas will also propose forming a legal committee of Arab legal experts to follow up on the Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people in the international tribunal courts, he added.
