The meeting came on the sidelines of the World Government Summit (WGS) 2023 being held in Abu Dhabi which starts today.
During the meeting, El-Sisi expressed appreciation for the Emirati invitation to Egypt to take part as a guest country in the summit.
He added that Egypt’s partaking in the summit through a high-level delegation reflects the special relations between the two countries, El-Sisi added.
El-Sisi said the WGS contributes to generating creative ideas that represent an inspiring way to face the various regional challenges.
The Egyptian president affirmed his appreciation of the strong, deep and brotherly relations and historical ties binding the two countries and their peoples at all levels.
This reflects positively on the intensive mutual coordination between the two sides on priority issues to achieve their joint interests and goals.
For his part, Mohammed bin Rashid hailed Egypt’s pioneering role in defending Arab causes as well as the Egyptian political leadership’s wise positions at the domestic and international levels.
Mohammed bin Rashid also underscored the special status of Egypt and Egyptians in the hearts of the Emirati people.
This year’s WGS is being held under the theme “Shaping Future Governments” with the participation of 20 presidents as well as more than 250 ministers, and 10,000 businessmen, government officials, global experts and thought leaders from around the world, according to the Emirati news agency WAM.
On the sidelines of the summit on Monday, El-Sisi participated in a roundtable with a number of officials and major companies specialised in several fields, including technology applications, artificial intelligence, e-commerce and sustainable resource management.
El-Sisi also met today with Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva.
The Egyptian president arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday where he was received by his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan at the airport.
