According to a statement released by the foreign ministry, Shoukry will take part in the activities of the G20 Foreign Ministers on 1-2 March within the framework of the Indian presidency of the group’s invitation to Egypt to participate as a guest country.

In October 2022, India -- the president of the Group of 20 (G20) in 2023 -- invited Egypt to participate as a guest country in the G20 meetings, in which Ambassador Ragy El-Etreby, assistant minister of foreign affairs for international and regional multilateral economic affairs, will be the personal representative of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi at the yearlong meetings.

Shoukry will participate in two working sessions of the G20 on food security, energy, multilateralism and development cooperation, in addition to combating terrorism, drawing a global skills map, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.

He will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with various counterparts on the sidelines of the G20 event.

El-Etreby recently said that "Cairo intends to closely cooperate with the Indian presidency of the G20" on files of mutual priority, including enhancing global food security and supporting international financing institutions to better face successive crises.

Raisina Dialogue

The Egyptian foreign minister will then participate in the Raisina Dialogue that will be held from 2-4 March, according to the statement.

Launched in 2016, Raisina Dialogue is held annually in New Delhi and is hosted by the Indian independent think tank ‘Observer Research Foundation’ in cooperation with the Indian Ministry of External affairs.

The dialogue, which focuses on geopolitics and geoeconomics, is committed to addressing the most challenging issues facing the global community.

Shoukry will speak in a dialogue session entitled "From the Mediterranean to the Arabian Sea: A Region of Opportunities."

He will also speak in a dialogue session on climate change and just transitions.
