During the meeting, El-Sisi affirmed that Egypt welcomes Italian officials and companies, stressing that Italian companies have a record of fruitful work in the country.
He also pointed out that the visit activates the strategic partnership between both countries and lays the foundation for further economic cooperation, particularly in the fields of agriculture and food in the light of the current global food crisis.
The issues of illegal migration and efforts to cooperate in the field of energy were also discussed.
According to the Egyptian Presidency, Tajani’s visit to Cairo, at the head of an expanded trade mission from major Italian companies, comes within Egypt’s long-standing friendly relations with Italy.
Following the meeting with El-Sisi, the Italian delegation met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly who discussed with them ways to boost Italian investments in Egypt and the latest economic and trade reforms implemented in the country.
