Saber Nasr El-Din, a student at the Faculty of Medicine at Khartoum University, died on Sunday after he suffered a severe drop in blood pressure, according to his Egyptian roommates who spoke to news websites in Egypt.

Nasr's roommates said they were in contact with the Egyptian Embassy in Khartoum to repatriate his body to his hometown of Dayrout in the governorate of Assiut in Upper Egypt.

The Egyptian Ministry of foreign Affairs is coordinating with the relevant authorities in Sudan to evacuate Egyptian nationals from Khartoum and elsewhere in the country as armed confrontations between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces raged in the capital into a second week.

On Sunday, sources told Al-Arabiya that Egypt has deployed security forces on its borders with Sudan to secure the safe evacuation of Egyptian nationals from Sudan.

At least 10,000 Egyptians, including 5,000 students, are in Sudan.

The sources added to Al-Arabiya that the Egyptian and Sudanese armed forces are coordinating to begin these evacuation operations, adding that Sudan has provide Egypt with the details of the safe corridors that will take Egyptian nationals to designated evacuation sites in Sudan.

The Sudanese army will be accompanying convoys of Egyptians who will be evacuated from Sudan to the border crossings between the two countries, the sources noted.
