The two leaders expressed their deep concern over the escalating violence and fighting in Sudan, which puts civilians at great risk, said the Spokesman for the Presidency Ahmed Fahmy in a statement.
They also addressed the ongoing efforts to evacuate the nationals of the two countries.
During the call, the British prime minister acknowledged Egypt's crucial role in maintaining peace and security in the region, particularly as one of Sudan's most important neighbouring countries.
The current crisis poses serious challenges to the stability of the entire region, the British prime minister stressed.
For his part, President El-Sisi highlighted Egypt's efforts to encourage all parties to reach a ceasefire and end the suffering of the Sudanese people.
He also stressed the need to positively respond to all efforts that aim to both reach calm and activate dialogue and the political track, thus sparing Sudan the catastrophic consequences of this conflict for its stability and capabilities.
