The high-level US delegation, which included members of Congress, highlighted the significance of Egypt's inclusion in McCarthy's first official visit to the Middle East, as announced by Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Abu Zeid.
During the meeting, El-Sisi and McCarthy emphasized the depth of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States and the importance of clear communication within the framework of coordination and consultation.
The leaders discussed ways to address current developments and crises, including the situation in Sudan and the Palestinian issue. El-Sisi reiterated Egypt's firm position in achieving a just and comprehensive solution that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people and includes the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international standards.
McCarthy expressed the US's appreciation for Egypt's efforts in maintaining calm between the Israeli and Palestinian sides and pushing for the revitalization of the peace process.
El-Sisi emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to reach political solutions to advance the path of peaceful political dialogue in Sudan, to preserve the unity of states and the welfare of its people and prevent chaos and destruction.
Shoukry highlighted that 2022 marked the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Egypt and the United States. McCarthy expressed the US's keenness in strengthening bilateral cooperation and relations between the two countries and advancing them at all levels in various fields.
