According to the Egyptian presidency, Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed President El-Sisi, expressing Saudi Arabia's appreciation for Egypt, its leadership and its people.

He also affirmed Saudi Arabia's aspiration to further enhance the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.

For his part, President El-Sisi extended his congratulations to the crown prince on assuming the presidency of the summit and expressed Egypt's wishes and confidence in Saudi Arabia's success in promoting joint Arab work in the future.

The official spokesperson added that the meeting discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and sustain the partnership between the two countries in a manner that serves the common interests and mutual benefits of the Egyptian and Saudi people.

Earlier Friday, El-Sisi met with the Lebanese Prime Minister Naguib Mikati and Tunisia President Kais Saeid.

The Egyptian president had arrived on Thursday to participate in the summit.
