
Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi meets with leader of Iraq s National Wisdom Movement Party Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakim on Sunday.
The leader of the National Wisdom Movement also spoke about political developments in Iraq at the Egyptian Centre for Strategic Studies, highlighting possible integration among Arab, Turkish, Iranian and Kurdish nations.
“The Arab world can play an important role in the integration and cooperation of the four nations, represented by the Arab, Turkish, Iranian and Kurdish nations,” Al-Hakim said on Twitter.
He also underlined Iraq’s role in adopting regional stability projects, including the Iranian-Saudi dialogue.

Meeting Sisi
During his meeting with Al-Hakim, El-Sisi said that he deeply appreciates the close and brotherly relations between Egypt and Iraq, both on the official and popular levels, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
The president stressed Egypt’s keenness on preserving Iraq’s security and stability and reiterated support for the Iraqi efforts to achieve development and progress.
El-Sisi praised Al-Hakim’s role in maintaining stability and balance in Iraq.
They also discussed the most significant regional developments of mutual concern, the spokesperson continued.
For his part, Al-Hakim praised El-Sisi’s leadership and Egypt’s role in supporting Iraq.
"Egypt is a pillar and a supporter of stability in the Arab and Muslim world", Al-Hakim continued, adding that Iraq is keen to benefit from Egypt’s experience in development and other fields.
On Twitter, Al-Hakim affirmed to the president the need to resolve the crises facing some Arab countries, especially Sudan. The cleric stressed the need to facilitate dialogue between the conflicting parties.
The Chief of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service (GIS) attended the meeting.
Meeting Egypt’s FM
In a meeting with Al-Hakim, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry stressed that Egypt was keen on boosting cooperation with Iraq.
Shoukry said he hopes the upcoming higher Egyptian-Iraqi joint committee, scheduled to be held soon in Cairo at the level of prime ministers, will yield results that boost the relations between both countries.

He also praised Al-Hakim’s keenness on boosting the economic relations between Egypt and Iraq, highlighting the contributions of Egyptian companies to reconstruction and development efforts in Iraq.
The top Egyptian diplomat also highlighted the importance Egypt attaches to the trilateral cooperation mechanism that brings together Egypt, Iraq and Jordan.
Shoukry underscored that Egypt looks forward to implementing the cooperation projects agreed upon by the three countries as soon as possible, adding that these projects should reflect the political will of the three nations.
Shoukry affirmed Egypt’s full support of Iraq in its war against terrorism.
Meeting House speaker
In a meeting with Speaker of the House of Representatives Hanafy El-Gebaly, Al-Hakim stressed keenness to enhance the parliamentary relations between Egypt and Iraq.
Al-Hakim also stressed the importance of Syria’s return to the Arab League and the pivotal role parliaments should play in settling regional disputes.
