Egypt PM, FM arrive in Kyiv to promote African peace initiative
After a 12-hour train journey from the Polish border, Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry arrived in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Friday as part of a joint African peace mission to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war.

Madbouly is leading the Egyptian delegation on behalf of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.
The joint African delegation includes the heads of South Africa, Senegal, Comoros, Uganda, Zambia, and a representative from the Republic of Congo, in addition to Egypt.
The African delegation will hold talks today with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that will be followed by a joint press conference.
After meeting with Ukrainian leadership, the delegation is scheduled to travel to Russia.
South African President Cyril Ramasphosa announced the initiative in May.
