Of the total number, 1.18 million are men while 290,000 are women.
Egyptians comprise the fourth largest foreign population in the country, behind Bangladesh (2.1 million), India (1.9 million) and Yemen (1.8 million).
These statistics were part of the Saudi Census 2022, which revealed that the country’s overall population has reached 32 million people.
Among them are 18.8 million Saudi nationals (58.4 percent of the population) and 13.4 million foreign residents (41.6 percent).
The Egyptian community in Saudi Arabia is the largest outside of Egypt, according to official estimates from Egypt.
Additionally, Egyptian expats in Saudi Arabia were the number one source of remittances from Arab countries during the 2020/2021 fiscal year, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) in May.
Remittances from Saudi Arabia amounted to $11.2 billion, followed by Kuwait ($4.4 billion), the United Arab Emirates ($3.4 billion), and Qatar ($1.5 billion).
