In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt emphasized its complete rejection of Israel’s repeated attacks and raids on Palestinian cities, resulting in civilian deaths and the violation of international law and legitimacy, particularly international humanitarian law.

Egypt also warned against the risks of the ongoing Israeli escalation against the Palestinians. The attacks fuel tension, exacerbate the suffering of the Palestinian people, and undermine the efforts made by Egypt and regional and international partners to reduce tensions in the occupied territories.

Moreover, Egypt called on active and influential international parties to intervene to put an end to these violations and to provide protection to the Palestinian people who are suffering day by day.

Earlier on Monday, Israeli forces invaded Jenin Camp in the occupied West Bank, which resulted in clashes between the Israeli forces and Palestinian residents.

The Israeli forces used live ammunition, rubber bullets, and tear gas against the Palestinians.

The Jenin camp and an adjacent town of the same name have been a source of conflict in the escalating Israeli-Palestinian violence since last year. The latest raid, which occurred on Monday, took place two weeks after another violent incident in Jenin.

Monday’s deaths bring the death toll of Palestinians killed this year in the West Bank to 131, part of more than a year-long spike in violence that has seen some of the worst bloodsheds in that area in nearly two decades.

The outburst of violence escalated last year after a spate of Palestinian attacks prompted Israel to step up its raids in the West Bank.
