According to the Presidency, the two leaders spoke on Tuesday over the phone about ways to enhance economic and commercial cooperation, technology transfer, and joint manufacturing in light of major ongoing projects involving German companies in Egypt.
El-Sisi and Scholz also discussed several regional and international issues of common interest to both countries and agreed to continue consultation and coordination in the upcoming period, said the Egyptian Presidency.
According to statements from the German ambassador to Cairo, Frank Hartmann, Germany is currently Egypt’s second-largest trading partner in Europe, with a total volume of about 5.5 billion euros in bilateral trade recorded in 2022.
