Shoukry to head to Tunisia for political consultation meeting

Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is scheduled to head to Tunisia later on Monday evening to participate in the political consultation mechanism meeting at the level of the Foreign Ministers of Egypt and Tunisia, according to a statement by the ministry on Monday.

Shoukry is attending the first ministerial mechanism meeting on the ongoing Sudanese crisis held in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad.

He will then head to Tunisia. 

The upcoming meeting in Tunis comes within the framework of the 15th session of the political consultation committee between Egypt and Tunisia, Foreign Ministry's Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid stated. 

He added that Shoukry will meet Tunisian President Kais Saied during the visit to convey a verbal message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Shoukry will also hold discussions with his Tunisian counterpart Nabil Ammar, according to Abu Zeid.
