According to a statement by the spokesperson of the Egyptian foreign ministry, Ahmed Abu Zeid, Shoukry praised and recounted the consistent progress of Egyptian-Tunisian relations, citing the historic visit of Saied to Cairo in April 2021.

On his side, the Tunisian president conveyed to Shoukry his great appreciation for his counterpart El-Sisi, expressing pride in Egypt’s support for Tunisia through all its challenges.

Saied further stressed the shared positions of the two leaders on all international challenges.

The meeting addressed regional issues of mutual concern including the conflict in Sudan, the ongoing challenges in Libya, as well as the Palestinian cause.

Both sides agreed to address these challenges with solidarity and coordination in pursuit of mutual national interests.
