Kenya's president eager to visit Egypt

Kenyan President William Ruto told Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Monday that he looked forward to visiting Egypt in response to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's invitation.

Kenyan Prime Minister William Ruto receives Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Monday on the sidelines of the Africa Climate Summit (ACS) hosted in Kenya.

 

Madbouly met with the Kenyan president on the sidelines of the Africa Climate Summit (ACS) in Nairobi.

The president told Madbouly he looked forward to visiting Egypt to continue constructive consultations and cooperate with Egypt on various issues.

He also said he was proud of the relations with Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi.

Ruto also thanked Egypt’s prime minister for participating in the summit meetings and discussed the main ideas Kenya proposed during the ACS to support international climate action.

For his part, Madbouly conveyed to Ruto the Egyptian president’s greetings and praised the relations between the two countries.

He also stressed the importance of holding the meetings pertinent to the next session of the joint committee in Nairobi.

Furthermore, Madbouly discussed the possibility of holding a joint forum for businessmen in the two countries.

He praised the urban development in the capital city of Nairobi and congratulated the leadership and people of Kenya on their success.

The prime minister also visited the Coptic Hospital in Nairobi. Following the visit, he said he was proud of the “great medical edifice” that provides health services at the “highest level” to Kenya’s citizens.

“The hospital is the best ambassador for Egypt in the heart of the African continent,” he asserted.

For her part, Kenya’s Minister of Health, Susan Nakhumincha, affirmed that the hospital is one of the “most important medical institutions at the national level,” adding that her mother, who was treated at the hospital two months ago, had received excellent service.
