The Turkish president’s remarks came in press statements to Turkish reporters accompanying him on his return flight from India after attending the G20 Summit in New Delhi.
Erdogan said Egyptian and Turkish officials will be arranging dates to exchange reciprocal presidential visits, according to Mutlu Sen.
"We have tasked our foreign ministers and heads of intelligence to arrange the date of the visits,” Erdogan told the Turkish reporters.
The Turkish president also said that he would soon accept the credentials of the recently appointed Egyptian ambassador to Ankara.
On Sunday, Erdogan met with El-Sisi on the sidelines of the G20 summit in the first official meeting between the two leaders since the two nations resumed relations, ending a decade-long rupture.
Cairo and Ankara upgraded diplomatic relations to the ambassadorial level in July.
Following the Sunday meeting, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said in a statement that El-Sisi and Erdogan agreed to boost cooperation between the two countries, building on notable strides achieved in recent months.
Both leaders committed to "enhancing collaboration on regional matters based on mutual respect and in alignment with the imperative to preserve security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region," added Fahmy.
Economic cooperation
On the way home, Erdogan stressed to reporters that both countries would increase bilateral trade exchange and revive the Strategic Cooperation Council, according to Mutlu Sen.
"We will strengthen relations between Turkey and Egypt to where they ought to be since both countries have enormous economic and trade potential," he noted.
He added that Turkey aims to cultivate stronger relations with Egypt, stressing that both countries will be able to achieve positive outcomes on many regional issues, especially the Syrian issue.
