In the statement, Egypt affirmed its “full solidarity" with Turkey and denounced the attack on the General Directorate of Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Egypt also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
Furthermore, Egypt reiterated its unwavering stance against "all forms of violence and terrorism that cause instability and intimidate citizens", the ministry stressed.
During the early hours of Sunday morning, two terrorists carried out a bomb attack in front of the entrance gate of the General Directorate of Security of the Ministry of the Interior in Ankara. While one of the attackers was neutralized by security forces, the other managed to blow himself up, injuring two police officers.
According to Reuters, the recent explosion in Ankara marks the first of its kind since 2016 and coincides with the opening of a new session in parliament.
