“Egypt is confident in Morocco’s ability in the tournament and wishes the country and its people all the best in their preparations,” added the statement.
In the statement, the foreign ministry also congratulated Spain and Portugal on co-hosting the 2030 World Cup.
Morocco will be the second Arab country after Qatar to host the prestigious tournament.
"Egypt also congratulates Saudi Arabia for announcing its bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup and wishes the kingdom and its people well," added the foreign ministry.
