The protesters chanted after Friday prayers in solidarity with Palestine, condemning Israel with chants of “Down with Israel”.

Among the participants was former manpower minister and Nasserite socialist activist Kamel Abu Eita.

A stand in solidarity with Palestine was also organized outside Alexandria’s famous Al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque, where dozens protested Israeli army violations against Palestinians, and chanted “Down with Israel”.

Earlier this week, the Hamas militant movement called for mass protests worldwide as a day of rage against the Israeli attack on Gaza.
