El-Sisi and Putin have called for giving priority to the path of promoting calm and restoring security and stability in the Gaza Strip, spotlighting the urgency to provide safe access to humanitarian relief and assistance.

The two presidents also called for protecting and preventing the targeting of civilians, pointing to the gravity of the humanitarian conditions in the strip, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency.

The two leaders reviewed the ongoing diplomatic efforts to contain the situation and prevent the spread of violence and conflict that could threaten the security and stability of the region.

They also urged immediate and concerted action to address the root causes of the crisis.

They shed light on the absence of a political horizon for a just and lasting resolution of the Palestinian issue -- including the establishment of a Palestinian state based on internationally agreed-upon principles of legitimacy.

El-Sisi also exchanged views with Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the current situation in the region and the developments of the ongoing military escalation in the Gaza Strip.

The call also touched upon the Egyptian efforts to contain the crisis, prevent its escalation, and defuse violence as well as to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

The Egyptian President also discussed in a phone call with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni the latest developments in the region and the military operations in the Gaza Strip.

Both sides agreed on the importance of strengthening international and regional efforts to prevent further escalation and address the security and humanitarian complexities of the situation, according to the Egyptian Presidency.

President El-Sisi also briefed Meloni on the outcomes of Egypt's diplomatic initiatives at the international and regional levels, which aim to achieve a ceasefire and ensure swift and secure access to humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
