El-Sisi received on Tuesday a phone call from Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, where the two sides asserted the importance of taking into consideration the serious humanitarian outcome of such military escalations on the lives of civilians, in addition to the security and political impact on the whole region, the spokesman explained.
El-Sisi reiterated that Egypt would continue its efforts to coordinate regional and international efforts to urge the parties to adopt a calmness track, dispatch humanitarian aid to Gaza and avoid more humanitarian suffering for the Palestinian people, added the spokesman.
El-Sisi also discussed the developments in the Graza strip in a phone call with Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. Spain is currently holding the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The two leaders expressed deep concern over the ongoing escalation of violence and the gravely deteriorating security and humanitarian situations in the Strip.
They urged coordinated international efforts to de-escalate the situation, spare the bloodshed of civilians, and prevent the expansion of the conflict to the entire region.
El-Sisi reiterated the need for concerted efforts by the international community to ensure the delivery of humanitarian services and aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
He also called for strengthening efforts toward addressing the root causes of the escalation, by achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian cause.
