He stressed the readiness of triage hospitals and medical staff to deal with the repercussions of the crisis in Gaza.
On Sunday, Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca said he agreed with his Egyptian counterpart Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar on the transfer of nearly 1,000 Palestinian civilians who need urgent treatment through Rafah to Egypt.
This includes cancer patients who were being treated at the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital in Gaza, the enclave's only cancer hospital, which has gone out of service recently after running out of fuel.
Since Wednesday, dozens of wounded Palestinians in Gaza and hundreds of foreigners and dual nationals have transited the Rafah crossing as per a recently reached agreement.
Egyptian Minister of Health Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar held a press conference on Saturday in North Sinai’s El-Arish, saying that Egypt receives between 40 to 50 injured Palestinians from Gaza for treatment daily and is willing to receive more.
The Egyptian foreign ministry said on Thursday that it is working to evacuate 7,000 foreigners from over 60 countries.
