The channel’s crew was covering events in the vicinity of the Al-Shifa Hospital on Saturday before the broadcast service was interrupted, according to El-Tahry.

“On Saturday, we lost broadcast service in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip, and contact with our crew was lost. I have now learned of the cameraman’s martyrdom and the injury of another colleague,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Six babies and nine other patients have been killed in the hospital, the largest in Gaza, amid Israel’s assault on the north of the strip.

As of Monday, 50 journalists and media workers have been reportedly killed since 7 October.

Eight journalists have been injured, three missing and 13 arrested, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

“The Zionist entity’s crimes against journalists are still ongoing,” said Khaled El-Balshy, head of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate, commenting on the incident.

“The crime against the two colleagues comes after another crime of cutting off communications from the hospital and journalists, which disrupted the arrival of news and perhaps hindered rescue efforts,” El-Balshy added.

He called for an international investigation into the Israeli aggression against the journalists.
