According to the Turkish ambassador, the ship “BESTEKAR” docked at Al-Arish port on Monday carrying eight fully equipped field hospitals with operating rooms and intensive care units.

The ship also carries 20 equipped ambulances, 15 power generators, and quantities of medicines and medical supplies.

The governor of North Sinai, Mohamed Abdel-Fadil Shousha, and Egypt’s Red Crescent officials received the ship.

On Friday, Turkey announced that it would dispatch a ship carrying field hospital equipment, ambulances, and generators to Egypt to provide medical assistance to war casualties from Gaza following the ongoing devastating Israeli attack that led to a collapse in medical care in the Strip.

According to the Egyptian Red Crescent, Turkey has until 10 November sent 204.6 tons of medical aid to Gaza through Al-Arish airport.

Turkish Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca said last week that he agreed with his Egyptian counterpart Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar on transferring nearly 1,000 Palestinian civilians suffering cancer through the Rafah crossing to Egypt.

These patients were being treated in Gaza at the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital -- the only cancer hospital in the Strip -- which has gone out of service recently after running out of fuel.

Egypt received the first group of these patients, consisting of 12 Palestinian children, on Thursday.

According to the latest official statements, more than 90 percent of medical facilities in Gaza are out of service.
