According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Lecornu briefed President El-Sisi on the results of his regional tour in the past few days, working to calm the situation in the region.
The French side expressed interest in coordinating with Egypt in this regard, highlighting the strong relations between the two countries and Egypt's pivotal role in the Gaza crisis, the Egyptian Presidency added.
The focus of the meeting was on easing the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need for a ceasefire, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gazans.
General Mohamed Zaki, the Minister of Defense and Military Production attended the meeting.
Following his visit to Cairo on Wednesday, Lecornu headed to Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and then Israel before returning to Cairo.
