According to the king’s office, El-Sisi and King Abdullah will discuss the situation in Gaza and the means to ending the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
The meeting between the two heads of state comes just a few hours after a four-day truce between Israel and Hamas was announced, thanks to successful Egyptian-Qatari-American mediation.
The agreement marks the biggest diplomatic breakthrough since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza, which has raised fears of a wider conflict across the Middle East.
During the recent Joint Arab Islamic Summit in Riyadh earlier this month, both leaders reaffirmed their rejection of the collective punishment of innocent people in Gaza by siege, starvation, or displacement.
The Egyptian and Jordanian leaders said such policies violate international humanitarian law.
