According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Minister Shoukry will depart on the morning of Sunday, November 26, to the Spanish city of Barcelona to participate in the eighth ministerial forum of the Union for the Mediterranean, scheduled for 27 November 2023.
This year's forum is dedicated to discussing developments in Gaza.
The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, of which Shoukry is a member, will meet in Barcelona with José Manuel Albares, the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, to present the outcomes and decisions of the recent Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh.
The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee was formed to garner international support for the emergency decisions of the Riyadh summit.
Additionally, they will participate in a ministerial roundtable organized by the Union for the Mediterranean, titled "Developments in Israel and Palestine-Gaza and the Region."
Shoukry will also travel to New York on Tuesday, 28 November, to join other committee members in a briefing session held by the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East.
The Chinese presidency of the Security Council has decided to convene this ministerial-level session to address developments in the Gaza Strip.
The objective is to review the Arab and Islamic positions calling for an end to the war, urging the Security Council to assume its responsibility to promote a comprehensive ceasefire and end Israeli violations of international law.
The committee will also emphasize, during its meetings in New York, the need to immediately revive the peace process.
This includes ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with its capital in East Jerusalem.
Earlier on Saturday, Shoukry discussed with the foreign ministers of Portugal and Slovenia during their visit to Cairo the draft resolution that the Arab and Islamic group intends to present to the Security Council on the flawed system for delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.
During the meeting, Shoukry expressed his appreciation for the balanced positions of Portugal and Slovenia, noting their support for the Arab resolution on Gaza in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
He also acknowledged Portugal's traditional support for Palestine and the two-state solution, which was reflected in the Portuguese Prime Minister's call for a ceasefire in Gaza during the European Council summit held last month.
