According to Jordan's Royal Hashemite Court, El-Sisi and King Abdullah will discuss the latest developments in Gaza and the means to reach a ceasefire in the Strip.
The meeting between the two heads of state comes amid the brutal Israeli war in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in more than 20,000 deaths, most of whom are children and women.
Egypt has been pushing for an extended ceasefire in the war-torn strip and sustained access to humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of civilians there.
On Tuesday, Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi met in Cairo, where they discussed the security of navigation in the Red Sea and the latest developments in the Gaza Strip.
On 22 December, the UNSC approved a much-delayed resolution calling for increased aid to the besieged Palestinian territory where civilians are struggling to find food amid Israel’s war.
Late November, El-Sisi and Jordan's King reaffirmed the importance of continuing efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, during a meeting in Cairo.
