During a meeting with the Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis in Cairo, El-Sisi further emphasised the necessity to enforce the delivery of humanitarian aid to mitigate the impact of the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
According to the Egyptian Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy, El-Sisi affirmed that Egypt will continue to support the people in Gaza, provide them with aid, and work towards calming the situation.
For his part, the Greek Foreign Minister agreed with El-Sisi's stance, highlighting the pivotal role of Egypt as a cornerstone for peace and stability in the Middle East.
Both sides also agreed on the urgent need to move quickly towards a just and comprehensive settlement for the Palestinian cause, which is the central issue in the region and the path toward achieving peace, security, and stability.
During the meeting, the Greek FM conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to El-Sisi, reaffirming his country's commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across all areas.
Furthermore, El-Sisi underscored the significance of the strategic relations between both countries, praising the persistent coordination and cooperation on various issues between the two nations and through the Trilateral Cooperation Mechanism with Cyprus.
Before meeting with El-Sisi, the Greek Foreign Minister had held a joint press conference with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry in Cairo, in which they discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the Red Sea.
As its war on Gaza entered its 103rd day, Israel is facing growing pressure domestically and internationally to stop its most destructive war on the Palestinian territories in 75 years.
