According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shoukry is set to deliver Egypt's statement before the HLS of the UNHRC, in addition to holding several meetings with diplomats, senior officials, and counterparts in Geneva.

Shoukry is also expected to participate in events on the sidelines examining the human rights implications of some of the most prominent regional and international crises, particularly the ongoing war in Gaza.

Shoukry will also attend the HLS of the Conference on Disarmament, held under Indonesia's presidency. The conference is the world's main multilateral negotiating forum on disarmament and non-proliferation treaties and agreements, the ministry added.

During the visit, Egypt's FM will also participate in the meetings of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee with UN officials, formed by the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit in Riyadh, to discuss the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the international efforts to end the ongoing crisis.

On the 141st day of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, Tel Aviv is facing growing international pressure to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza, as the Israeli army has killed 29,606 and wounded 69,737 since 7 October, most of whom are women and children.
