Shoukry also asserted Egypt’s rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinian people out of their territories as well as attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The two ministers discussed joint efforts to enforce a truce in the Gaza Strip as well as exchange detainees.
Blinken hailed Egypt’s efforts to mediate between Israel and Hamas as well as efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the enclave, added the statement.
They also discussed the latest development in the Red Sea region and its consequences on international trade traffic.
Shoukry warned that expanding conflict in the region will threaten the stability, safety, and interests of a number of states.
