Egypt, EU sign Joint Declaration on the Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership

Egypt and the European Union signed on Sunday the Joint Declaration on the Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership between it and the EU in Cairo.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen signed it with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi at the presidential palace.

Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis attended the signing ceremony, which took place at Ittihadia Palace in Cairo.

El-Sisi and the Greek PM signed a joint declaration for establishing a high-level cooperation council between Egypt and Greece.

Furthermore, Egypt's Ministry of International Cooperation and Italy's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation signed an agreement on technical assistance programmes for furniture, leather, and marble industrial zones.

Moreover, Egypt's Ministry of International Cooperation, Ministry of Social Solidarity, and National Council for Persons with Disabilities signed an agreement with Italy's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on promoting the rights of persons with disabilities and their integration within society.

Egypt's Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat and Italy's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Edmondo Cirielli signed these agreements.

Egypt's Ministry of Education and Technical Education and Italy's Ministry of Public Education signed an agreement on cooperation in technical education and vocational training.

Egypt's Minister of Education and Technical Education Reda Hegazy and Italy's Minister of Public Education Giuseppe Valditara signed this agreement.

These agreements and memoranda of understanding, signed on the sidelines of the European-Egyptian Summit, come within the framework of sustaining, strengthening, and developing cooperation between Egypt and the EU.
