In a statement, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said El-Sisi's participation in the summit reflects Egypt's keenness to coordinate with the Arab nations to unify positions and close ranks amid the current critical phase and challenges faced by the Arab region at various levels.

Many Arab leaders are expected to participate in the summit.

The summit is set to witness discussions on the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, including ongoing efforts to stop the bloodshed of Palestinians and save the residents from the humanitarian tragedy gripping the strip, according to Fahmy.

He added that the humanitarian situation in Gaza has been exacerbated by the ongoing Israeli military operation in Palestinian Rafah, which necessitates a clear rejection by the international community.

The summit will also address the situations in several Arab countries and the means to restore stability in the region amid major crises facing it in the context of fast-changing variables at the international and regional levels.

The president is expected to hold several meetings with Arab leaders to discuss enhancing cooperation and joint coordination mechanisms.
