Discussions came during a meeting in Cairo that was attended by Professor Dr Essam Al-Kurdi, President of El Alamein International University.
The meeting came following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between El Alamein International University and the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
This MoU initiates a partnership with the University of Louisville in the US and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), according to a foreign ministry statement.
During the meeting, El-Baz and Al-Kurdi expressed their gratitude for the Egyptian foreign ministry's support of Egyptian scientists in the US and its efforts to enhance communication between Egyptian and American universities.
They also emphasised the importance of these efforts in fostering bilateral partnerships in scientific, academic, and economic fields.
The meeting also touched on strategies to enhance cooperation between Egypt and the US by leveraging and attracting Egyptian expertise from major American universities in various fields, such as medicine, engineering, and artificial intelligence (AI).
This shall align with the Egyptian government’s priorities for economic development and investment attraction, the statement added.
