According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty commended Romania's efforts to export grain from Ukraine to the world, especially to African countries.
He also expressed Egypt's interest in cooperating with Romania in wheat exportation, given that Egypt received about 63,000 tons of wheat from Romania in July 2024.
In addition, Abdelatty praised the mutual coordination and support between the two sides in international organizations and the growing volume of bilateral relations, particularly in trade, which exceeded $1.1 billion in 2023.
He also outlined many untapped opportunities for cooperation that could enhance and expand collaboration between the two countries, especially in tourism, expatriate labour, and energy.
Moreover, Abdelatty highlighted the importance of high-level bilateral visits, the most recent being the visit of former Romanian Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă to Egypt in February 2023 and the invitation extended to the President of Egypt to visit Romania.
Similarly, he emphasized that Egypt sets great store by coordinating with Romania on issues of mutual interest regionally and internationally, particularly combating terrorism and irregular migration.
Furthermore, Abdelatty appreciated Romania's role in supporting Egypt within the European Union, stressing the need to continue regular political consultations at senior official levels between the two countries.
He added that he looked forward to the fourth session of the Egyptian-Romanian Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation in Bucharest during the last quarter of this year.
The two sides also discussed institutional cooperation between their investment promotion agencies to exchange expertise and investment opportunities and organize reciprocal promotional missions and visits for businesspeople from both sides.
The Romanian Minister expressed her country's great appreciation for the strong and historic friendship with Egypt. She also emphasized her intention to cooperate and coordinate with her Egyptian counterpart on various issues and enhance bilateral cooperation in all fields.
